The 17th Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China was held between July 7 and 9 in Wuhan, Hubei province.
At the invitation of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial Government, the foreign and overseas Chinese affairs office of Xiamen municipal government sent a delegation of 10 overseas Chinese businesspeople to attend the conference.
The delegates were chosen from various sectors such as biological medicine, communications technology, education and environmental protection.
Wuhan has hosted the conference for 16 years since it was initiated in 2001. This year's conference was themed on "innovation by overseas Chinese businesspeople and common development". A total of 41 activities were held during the event.
The conference participants all agreed that the event provides opportunities for enterprises to reach cooperation agreements and facilitates economic and technological development.
The event also serves as a good networking platform for overseas Chinese people, according to the attendees. They said they were keen to attend more similar activities in the future.

A delegation of 10 journalists from mainstream media in Indonesia's Bali island visited Xiamen from May 2 to 4 to promote cultural and educational exchanges between China and Indonesia.
A delegation consisting of members of the Kuching Fujian Guild in Fujian province's sister province Sarawak, Malaysia recently visited Xiamen, Fujian province.
