Djauhari Oratmangun, the newly-appointed Indonesian ambassador to China, recently visited Xiamen, according to the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal Government (XMFOCAO).

Li Xiaoping, director of XMFOCAO, met with the ambassador on April 28 to discuss cooperation in cruise tourism, trade and culture.

Li briefed Oratmangun on Xiamen's economic and social development.

He said that Xiamen now actively seeks cooperation with countries along the route of the Belt and Road Initiative and is generally opening wider to the outside world, which will surely offer a valuable opportunity to the two sides for exchanges and cooperation.

Li hoped the ambassador will further promote cooperation between Xiamen and Indonesia.

Oratmangun was impressed by Xiamen's beautiful environment and its achievements in social and economic development.

He said that he will be very pleased to promote the two sides' exchanges at a higher level and in broader fields.
