1- Examines and approves applications of individuals and groups for business trips to overseas countries and Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions;
2- Issues passports, exit-entry permits and endorsements for Hong Kong and Macao for business trip individuals, as well as relevant certificates；
3- Applies and handlse visa applications, endorsement documents, and other certificates for overseas business trip individuals;
4- Examines and approves foreigners’ applications for business visits to Xiamen at invitation by local institutions, and organizes some important visits, issues “Confirmation Letter of Invitation” for foreigners invited by non-governmental institutes and individuals;
5- Overses the application and management of the APEC Business Travel Card; and training and administration of Xiamen’s foreign affair officials;
6- Undertakes other duties assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Foreign Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and other departments.
Xiamen recently donated 105 books to its sister city in the Philippines, Cebu, to celebrate Cebu-Xiamen Friends Day which falls on Oct 26.
Elod Tasnady, consulate general of Hungary in Shanghai, visited Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 25 to 26 to seek business cooperation with the Chinese city.
