Established in October, 1999, the Xiamen Overseas Chinese Enterprises Service Center is a non-profit institution under the leadership of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government.
The center serves as a link between enterprises in Xiamen invested by overseas Chinese and local government departments. It is engaged in providing consultation services, handling complaints from the overseas Chinese enterprises, improving their investment environment and protecting their legitimate rights and interests with the goal of boosting their overall development.

Xiamen recently donated 105 books to its sister city in the Philippines, Cebu, to celebrate Cebu-Xiamen Friends Day which falls on Oct 26.
Elod Tasnady, consulate general of Hungary in Shanghai, visited Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 25 to 26 to seek business cooperation with the Chinese city.
