A delegation headed by the deputy chairman of São Paulo city council visited Xiamen, Fujian province from Jan 15 to 17 to seek cooperation with the Chinese city in the areas of the economy, trade and science, especially regarding transportation.

"Both China and Brazil share common benefits with each other and the two countries have seen increasingly closer relations over recent years," said Liu Yusheng, deputy director director of the standing committee of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, at a meeting with the delegation on Jan 16.

Rodrigo Goulart, deputy chairman of the Brazilian city council, said that they have learnt a lot from the Xiamen trip and the city's transportation planning is a good example for the way they will construct their city in the future.
